AtRichard Global Goods, we supply high-quality HEPA filters designed to deliver exceptional air filtration performance. But even the best filter is only effective if it’s handled and stored correctly.
HEPA filters are designed to capture 99.97% of fine particles, making them ideal for cleanrooms, spray booths, medical environments, and more. However, due to their delicate construction, proper care during handling and installation is essential.
🔧 Handle with Care
The pleated filter media inside a HEPA filter is what does the hard work—removing fine particles from the air. These pleats are incredibly delicate. Any tear, dent, or pressure on the surface can reduce efficiency or make the filter unusable.
- Never press or push on the pleated surface.
- Always carry the filter by the frame, ideally using two flat hands.
- Avoid sharp or sudden impacts, even from low heights.
🔒 Metal-Framed Protection
To reduce the risk of accidental damage, our metal-framed HEPA filters come fitted with protective grilles on both faces. This offers added strength during installation and handling, but filters should still be treated with care.
📦 Storage Recommendations
Damage can easily occur before a filter is even installed. Here’s how to store your HEPA filters safely:
- Inspect immediately upon delivery. Report any transport damage right away.
- Store filters vertically, not flat, to protect the pleated face.
- Keep them off the ground, ideally on racking or pallets.
- Avoid stacking other items on top.
- Keep the filter in its original packaging until installation.
⚠️ Risks of Dropping a Filter
Dropping a HEPA filter—even from a short height—can:
- Tear or distort the media
- Twist the frame and split pleats
- Cause unseen internal damage
Metal frames offer better durability than wooden frames, but all HEPA filters must be handled carefully.
✅ Quick Tips for Fitting
- Always handle by the frame
- Use flat palms—never press with fingers into the media
- Gently place into the frame or housing and secure evenly
